Lone Cabin

Lone Cabin

This is the 3rd version in a practice series concerning landscapes and the creation of depth. I was satisfied with the way this painting ended up; based on what I had learned through painting and making notes on the outcomes of the previous versions. The majestic mountains, and morning sun reflecting in the mist at their base. The lazy, white mist gathering in the little valleys between the foothills. The Lone Cabin, sitting comfortably and agedly, accompanied by trees that were planted around the time the cabin was built – according to the lore in my head, but also literally if you think about it – and what looks like a little foot path leading off into the unknown behind our view. I was very pleased with the way this one ended up.
